INSIGHTS
I had the incredible pleasure of being interviewed by Julia Winston on her podcast, Facilitator Forum, about my awareness as a facilitator and how I engage to facilitate people's power and leadership via sensing, rites of passage, wayfinding, and learning from nature. This was my most fun podcast interview to date!
Here's the episode description:
"Episode #011 - Rites of passage guide Larissa Conte understands that humans are not separate from nature and brings this perspective into her work to bridge diverse worlds as an integrative systems coach, helping business leaders...
In this fabulous conversation with Patrick Courneyer from Peakon, he and I explored opportunities for organizational evolution and redefining what's possible for business now. Navigating this new world of work is asking us to deal with enormous amounts of pressure, learn the true intelligence in sensing and aliveness, and to evolve systems of power in service of the whole. “The price of admission, at each stage is our old self. It’s our smaller skin. Like a snake, we have to shed that skin. We have to let it go.”
By far one of my favorite podcast conversations...
In mid-May, I had the pleasure of speaking with Damon Klotz for Culture Amp's 7-part series exploring how we can all work through the pandemic. Damon and I explored some false codes of leadership, particularly diving into grief at work and how leaders can approach transformation at work. The series is a rich digital magazine of information — I highly recommend subscribing to it.

Grief is a core pillar of my work along with aliveness, power, connection, and creative possibility. It's a critical pillar, because without engaging grief, we cannot deeply access the other aspects of our capability (the elements we most deeply esteem at work).
Here's an amazing conversation I had the pleasure of sharing with my friend and colleague in the Chinese Medicine world, Gray Estrada, about grief as a critical component of personal and organizational aliveness.
It's a long, rich one—there's so much in here!—so here are some nuggets:
- Unprocessed grief occurs as...
I was interviewed by the wonderful Robin Zander on his podcast, The Robin Zander Show, and my episode was just released!
In preparation for the third annual Responsive Conference that Robin hosts where I’ll be presenting on the main stage, Robin and I discuss rituals, transformations, and cultural tensions that are coming to the surface all over the world. We cover the connection between physical injuries and emotional turbulence, the importance of beginnings and endings, and much, much more. Check it out here.
In June after presenting at Culture First, I had a rich (and very fun) conversation with Brad Owens, host of the Small Business Hiring podcast, about the gift of challenges and how to use sensing to reveal the power in the things we most want to avoid. Listen here :) Thanks Brad!
Brendan Baker, founder of Fabric co-working space, invited me to come speak in a fireside chat about company culture and why we can feel like shit at work. It was a great conversation with attendees from Airbnb, Pinterest, Asana, and many more companies. Here are some of his notes from the evening:
Why This Matters to Larissa
Larissa: “I’m madly in love with human beings as a species. We’re living in perhaps the most complex times we’ve faced. I realized in my career very quickly that if we don’t figure out how to be with each other it...
