One of our biggest levers for change as leaders is facing our impulse to create adversaries.
During large-scale crises and turbulence in our own lives, we can fixate so much outside of ourselves that we may lose sight of deeper internal pathways available to get out of the endless cycle of conflict. This can leave us feeling lost, disoriented, or powerless.
To undo repeating conflict patterns in our own lives, to undo blockage in our organizations, and to undo the seeds of oppression and war in the long run, we must cultivate the embodied capacity to recognize and not engage our Adversary Impulse.
